These fun little scrubbies are quick and easy to make! I suggest using a natural fiber yarn to make them. You can use hemp, cotton, bamboo, or any eco friendly yarn blend.
The pattern is worked in the round!
- Approx 20 1/4 yards of any eco-friendly yarn of your choice. Choose from cotton, hemp, bamboo, flax, etc. These scrubbies are a great way to use up small amounts of yarn scraps in your stash!
- J hook (US10/6.00mm)
FINISHED SIZE: 4” diameter
SKILL LEVEL: Beginner
STITCH ABBREVIATIONS:
CH: chain
HDC: half double crochet
SL ST: slip stitch
STS: stitches
SPECIAL NOTES:
This pattern is worked in the round. You’ll create two pieces and attach them together.
GAUGE:
1” = 2 rows of in the round (HDC)
Make two (2).
Round 1: Ch3, sl st together to form a circle.
Round 2: Ch1, 6hdc into the circle center, sl st to beginning. (6)
Round 3: Ch1, 2hdc into each stitch around, sl st to beginning. (12)
Round 4: Ch1, * 1hdc in the first st, 2hdc in next stitch, repeat from * around, sl st to beginning. (18)
Round 5: Ch1, * 1hdc in next 2 sts, 2hdc in next stitch, repeat from * around, sl st to beginning. (24)
Round 6: Ch1, * 1 hdc in next 3 sts, 2hdc in next stitch, repeat from * around, sl st to beginning. (30)
Finish off.
PART TWO: Stitching Together
To give these scrubbies a unique and more textured look, I like to crochet them together with the wrong side facing out. It’s optional and you can choose the method you like best!
PLEASE NOTE: The right side naturally curls up. The wrong side naturally curls down.
TO STITCH TOGETHER:
Place your two circles together. Line up the tails from your finishing off.
1. Insert your hook into the first hdc space making sure to go through both layers.
2. Ch1, working around your piece, SC in each stitch around, sl st to beginning. (30)
3. Ch1, finish off. Weave in the ends.
